A new musical based on Strange Snow, the award-winning play by Stephen Metcalfe

Opening Day is a two-act musical adaptation.

Like Stephen Metcalfe’s play, the overall tone of Opening Day is serious but infused with healing humor and hope—in the spirit of Pasek and Paul’s Dogfight and Floyd Collins by Adam Guettel and Tina Landau.

The action of the play takes place over one long day and night. Opening Day is the first collaborative work from Steve Delchamps and Doug Voegtle.

I had the pleasure of working with Steve and Doug on the early development of a new musical, Opening Day, and I found them to be extraordinarily collaborative, inquisitive, and intelligent.
