Stephen Metcalfe is a playwright, screenwriter, and novelist. His plays have been produced Off-Broadway, regionally, and internationally. Strange Snow was published in 1982.

His screen credits include Jackknife, Cousins, Half a Lifetime, and Beautiful Joe as well as the production drafts of Pretty Woman, Arachnophobia, and Mr. Holland’s Opus.

Novels include The Tragic Age (St. Martin’s Press, 2015), The Practical Navigator (St. Martin’s, 2017), and Attachment Patterns (Austin-Macauley Publishers, 2023).

Other plays: Loves & Hours, The Tragedy of the Commons, Lightbulb, and The Incredible Famous Willy Rivers.

Mr. Metcalfe is an Associate Artist at The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego.
